Colin Hardy, the director of the animated short Butterfly, horror film The Hallow, as well as several music videos, will be directing The Nun, a future spinoff of The Conjuring. Hardy’s film The Hallow was acquired by IFC after premiering at the 2015 Sundance Film Festival. His recent works include The Crow (starring Jason Momoa), but since the film has exited Relativity studios, they’re looking for a new studio.|
New Line Cinema‘s The Nun, written by James Wan and Gary Dauberman and produced by Wan and Peter Safran will join Annabelle as the spinoff of The Crow. Annabelle also has a sequel due to come out on August 11 this year. Annabelle and The Conjuring films have earned $895 million worldwide combined, with $318 million earned by The Conjuring in 2013 worldwide and $320 million from the sequel. Both movies cost $60 million combined to make, whereas Annabelle, that cost less than $7 million, managed to pull in an amazing $257 million in 2014.
