Games to Look Out for in October

October is the month when many triple A games will be released, so we’ve compiled a chronological list of upcoming releases. Which ones are you most excited for?

MAFIA III – October 7th

The third installment of one of the best gangster series, Mafia, takes place in New Bordeaux, a city inspired by New Orleans. The year is 1968 and the story begins when Lincoln Clay returns from Vietnam and finds that the Italian Mafia “took care” of his surrogate family.

GEARS OF WAR 4 (October 11th)

Epic Games are no longer the developer of the series, so it will be interesting to see whether the new installment can live up to the previous games. In Gears of War 4, you will play as JD Fenix, and if the name rings a bell, it should – the game is set 25 years after the previous one and JD is the son of Marcus Fenix and Anya Stroud. There’s a new threat to humanity that must be defeated.

BATTLEFIELD 1 (October 21st)

The military first-person shooter Battlefield returns, this one set during the period of World War I. There’s a lot of hype around this game, and whether it lives up to it or not, a change of scenery is certainly going to be fun and fresh.

CIVILIZATION VI (October 21st)

Coming out on the same day as Battlefield 1, there’s another installment of Civilization, a popular 4X strategy game, favorite of many. Judging by Sid Meier’s previous work on the Civilization series that inspired countless spin offs, Civilization VI is certainly going to be up to par.

TITANFALL 2 (October 28th)

The first-person shooter with a mech twist was obviously the recipe for success when it comes to the original Titanfall, and now it’s back. You’ll be able to fly around on jetpacks, avoiding mechs, and you can control both the pilot and their mech suits.
