Top 5 upcoming horror games of 2016



This year, fans of horror have a number of great games to look forward to on PC and consoles. That’s why we’ve listed some of the games we think you should be looking forward to.

5. Routine


Lunar Software’s Routine is set on an abandoned Moon base. The player is the only one left on the base and your goal is to find out what has happened to everyone stationed on the base. You’re allowed to explore any part of the Moon as you search for evidence and try to stay away from the enemies. The game features perma-death.

4. Through the Woods


Through the Woods is being developed by the Norwegian studio Antagonist for PC. The story of the game will take place in a creepy forest in Norway and follows a mother as she searches for her missing son. The studio has revealed that it is ” heavely influenced by Norse mythology” and the name os the main antagonist is Old Erik, whome the mother wants to kill.

3. We Happy Few


Compulsion Games’ We Happy Few takes place in the retro-futuristic dystopian city of Wellington Wells, England in the year 1964. In the game’s alternate-history , Nazigermany has succesfully invaded England. In order to defeat the Nazis, the citizens of Wellington Wells instigated an incident, which is in the game referred to as “A Very Bad Thing.” Whatever that bad thing was it drove the Nazis out but left the people of Wellington Wells with so much guilt that in order to cope, they take a pill called Joy. It makes them forget all the bad things. You play as a “Downer,” someone who doesn’t take the pill. Your main goal is to hide the fact that you’re a “Downer” as you try to escape the city.

2. Kodoku


Carnivore, a small London-based studio, is currently working on Kodoku for PS Vita and PS4. The game’s inspired by Japanese folklore and from the trailer and screenshots we’ve seen so far, it look quite interesting.

1. Outlast II


Outlast II is Red Barrels Games’ indirect sequel to the first game. It’s in development for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. The game’s story takes place in the same universe as the first game but will feature a new setting and new characters. In the game you control Blake as he tries to find his wife after the chopper that they’re in crashes in a secluded village inhabited by a cult called Testament of the New Ezekiel.
